Leave a Bequest

By providing for Survivors & Mates Support Network in your Will, you will create enduring benefits for the men we serve.

Your gift will be a deeply significant and personal expression of support for SAMSN’s work and an acknowledgment that male survivors of childhood sexual abuse require specialist services.

It is no exaggeration to say that SAMSN is saving lives. After making a provision for your loved ones, your gift will help to ensure that men and their families will be able to access the support they need, now and into the future.

Our management plan is to build our capital reserves to secure SAMSN’s future. Your bequest will assist the realisation of that plan and will be acknowledged in perpetuity.

We set out below a simple form of bequest. This is not, however, offered as legal advice, which should always be obtained from your own lawyer. The suggestions below are for your guidance and would ultimately be determined and settled by the benefactor and their solicitor.

“I give to Survivors & Mates Support Network Limited, ABN 19 161 762 910, free of all duties, the sum of [$ __] for its general purposes. An authorised receipt from SAMSN will be a sufficient discharge for my executor(s) or trustee.”

Where the amount to be donated is a percentage of the estate, then the wording will need to be amended to reflect this. We suggest:

“I give to Survivors & Mates Support Network Limited, ABN 19 161 762 910, [%] of my residuary estate, free of all duties, for its general purposes. An authorised receipt from SAMSN will be a sufficient discharge for my executor(s) or trustee.”

We encourage you to seek professional legal advice and to consult with your family about your decision. If you require assistance in securing legal advice, we can refer you to our independent legal partner that may provide pro bono assistance.

The form of bequest suggested above provides for the gift to be applied by SAMSN and would allow the Charity’s Board freedom to use it in the best interests of the Charity at the relevant time. That is our preferred option because of the flexibility in application it permits. If you prefer to have your gift applied to a particular purpose, we invite you to consult with us to ensure your intended objective can be achieved.
